RB26 Oil Pressure and Oiling : Some Scary Data

Roberto from Rav Performance goes over some of his experience and history with RB26 oiling. As he says in his video, this is best case scenario. Flat ground in Florida. A stock car isn’t generating much g force, but its enough for us to see some dips in oil pressure on acceleration. As the car gets faster, it gets worse and worse.  You can imagine that at more than 1 g of cornering, what the oil is doing. Anything but being at the pickup. This shows that if you have it out, extend the sump. If its still in the car, do an Accusump. Do both if you want to be extra careful. Also if you have the ability to do it, setup oil pressure protection. Better to shut down than toss a rod out the side of the very expensive and hard to get RB26 block.  Check out the video below.

An Accusump is a great choice if you can’t change the pan

If you don’t have an enlarged pan, then an Accusump can help minimize drops in oil pressure.  The Accusump is an oil accumulator that stores a reserve of oil under pressure. Under conditions of a drop in oil pressure, the oil that is in the Accusump pressurizes the oiling system. Once the oil pressure comes back up, the Accusump
