“Conserv Fuel’s first station, which opened in April of last year, is leading the way in the burgeoning alternative fuel movement, offering biofuels that hold the promise of curbing greenhouse gases, reducing the nation’s dependence on foreign oil and stimulating the rural economy. The station is only the second in the state to offer a blend of ethanol called E85, which is 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline, and is currently the only place in Los Angeles where biodiesel (B99), a clean-burning and renewable diesel substitute, is sold. “It’s almost an oxymoron to think of a green, socially responsible fueling station,” explains Conserv Fuel Founder and CEO Kristopher Moller. “Well, that’s what we want to be.””
