I just realized that I never posted pictures from my Full Race ETS-Pro install into my NISMO R32 GT-R. First off, the OEM ATTESA system is over 25 years old. Back in 1990 it worked pretty well, but since then computers and sensors have both improved. The nice part about the Full Race ETS Pro, is that it is a complete replacement for the OEM ATTESA computer, and G-Sensor. Its adjustable, allows you to run RWD only, and dial in the amount of torque split.
We ran it at Buttonwillow road racing, at at Auto Club Dragway. Both times were noticeable differences in how the torque was split in the car.
ETS-Pro is engineered specifically for use with the R32, R33 and R34 Skyline GT-R ATTESA system. Designed to give you complete control over Nissan’s multiplate transfer case, ETS-Pro easily adjusts active torque split percentages on the fly – allowing you to switch from 4WD to RWD and all points in between. It also allows proper control for using an AWD Skyline GT-R transmission in non-OEM race applications or swaps (such as Escort Cosworth)
Bottom of rear seat removed, with most of the wires run.
Room behind rear seat.
Notes:
-Compared to OEM or modified OEM, the ETS-Pro firmware holds more pressure at the bottom end (to reduce system lag) and at the max top end it produces a hair more than full lockup of the clutchpack. The reason for this is that if the solenoid takes the pressure down below our minimum, there is a large amount of lag present in the system. This lag is what the stock ATESSA ecu allows for and why many experienced drivers complain about “delay” in the stock GTR. For this reason it is very important to remove the front driveshaft any time you plan to use your 4WD car on a 2WD dyno.
-both R32 and R33/R34 GTR ATTESA pumps were tested and we found virtually zero difference in performance between the pumps or solenoids. The functional difference is that R33/R34 GTR may have an additional failsafe solenoid. This solenoid should be disabled, by giving it a constant 12V any time the pump is on.
Digital G sensor mounted under OEM center console. The wires had to be extended to reach.
ETS-PRO Technical Details: -Advanced Microprocessor with Dual-axis high resolution G-Sensor -Water resistant and dust proof enclosure (IP65) -Custom firmware with driver adaptive capability -Torque split calculations use advanced formulas instead of static mapping or lookup tables -Several internal modes (programs) based on driver throttle and G-Sensor behavior that switch on the fly automatically -Optional Wheelspeed inputs on 2nd microprocessor daughter-board for aggressive Drag launches -ETS-PRO unit requires connecting (6) wires. The installer has the option to hard wire the ETS-PRO to the ATTESA Solenoid (located on ATTESA pump) or to connect the ETS-PRO to the OEM wiring harness.

The ATESSA-ETS primary solenoid is remarkably similar to the Subaru STI solenoid in terms of control and response/output. However, the GT-R has a lot more amperage draw than the Subaru and if we keep a low base pressure of ~20+psi, the response is instantaneous and can hit 250psi in less than a second…maybe tenths of a second even. Response times with ETS-PRO are noticeably faster than the factory system. This is much quicker than anything else that has been tested previously. The testing was performed on a 21 year old R32 GTR atessa pump, from a salvage yard, 100k KM on it. We were surprised that a hydraulic system go from nothing to basically 240psi in less than a few tenths of a second with some clever programming. If allowed, the pump can produce up to ~350psi+ *instantly* which is interesting (scary) on the least!
-After charting the curve of duty cycle vs pressure, it is very manageable and we can get an amazing resolution from the ETS-Pro maps (It can control the pressure to approx. 0.83 psi increments.)
Cut and Deutsch connectors added, so if I want to go back to stock, just switch the plugs.
-The original G-sensor and ATTESA computer have to be connected for the stock ABS and stock 4WD gauge to work -In order to keep the OEM ATTESA ECU intact (except the disconnected wires for the Solenoid) and keep the 4wd light off with a functioning torque split gauge – add a 20-Watts 8-ohm resistor across the output during installation. The resistor can be found by clicking HERE. -To 100% disconnect power to the transfer case, ground the ebrake wire either by pulling up the ebrake one click or an external switch. It is still a good idea to remove the front driveshaft anytime you are using a 2wd dyno
Wiring with Deutsch connectors, if we ever want to go back to stock

I was out of the Nissan Skyline GT-R loop for a while, I followed this thread from 2011 on GTR.co.UK about an upgraded and programmable ATTESA system from Full- Race, but didn’t follow up. April this year, Geoff put up some information on the box they had been working on. The factory ATTESA system was developed over 25 years ago. It had some changes over the years, but like anything it was a good base but could use some tuning. Full Race brings you the ETS Pro which replaces the ATTESA ECU, and the ~$1000 factory mechanical and fragile G-sensor.
First of all – the ETS-PRO is a full standalone center diff controller that completely replaces the stock ATESSA ecu and G-sensor, similar to the motec CDC but at far less cost and more user-friendly. You can leave the stock attessa ecu and sensor in place if you wish (doing nothing). In any RB26 application making some real power, this unit literally transforms the AWD system. There is no piggyback or mod you can do to the stock system that I am aware of which has this level of performance and adjustability, the ETS-PRO flat out works – especially noticeable if you have a track car and seat time, we have seen improvements from 2-4 seconds per lap compared to the older stock based atessa
Auto mode is where the ETS-PRO shines. Auto mode uses the gain knob and inputs from the g-sensor and TPS input working off the preset map to determine optimal torque split at the transfer case. Of course you can tune this map via USB, and we will offer free map updates in the future if needed, but thus far I am extremely happy with the performance and based on the track experience weve gathered have no desire to change it at this time.
Manual mode is a “fixed torque split”. Meaning you turn the knob and it goes from fixed 0/100 (knob all the way down = RWD), turn it up a bit more and youre at 20/80, or turn it all the way UP and you can lock it at 50/50. There is no input from the G-sensor here, and it really only makes sense for dirt/off-road use or ice/snow racing. I have no reason to use manual mode in my car, i much prefer the Auto mode, and that is the biggest benefit of the ETS-Pro in my experience. Of course Henrik in Norway contacted me recently as he ice races his r32 GTR and would likely prefer the manual mode. Racing in the rain may also benefit from manual mode, but i prefer to use the high gain setting in auto mode currently
Also if you raise the ebrake up 1 click (so it is not engaging anything except the ebrake light) this has the same effect as 0psi in the transfer case. You can do burnouts, drift, use a 2wd dyno, etc. I personally run the ebrake cutout on a manual switch, but that is just my preference to wire it that way. I go into detail on the instructions for both options
Q: Does ETS-PRO work on vehicles with A-LSD (Active Rear Differential) :
A: No, if you have an A-LSD equipped skyline, you MUST have an aftermarket rear differential, and eliminate A-LSD (highly recommended). We suggest using ETS-Pro with a clutch pack 2-way rear differential even stock GTR 2 way reshimmed to NISMO spec plate:disc:plate:disc is highly recommended (and free). Most high quality aftermarket units with a smooth lock like Carbonetic, ATS, OS Giken (soft lock version for 4wd) or Nismo may also work well. The key for a 4wd car like this is a smooth locking diff that is not overly aggressive, but does not slip open either.
All for only $499. Less than 1/2 the price of a new OEM G-sensor. Looks like I will be giving this box a test in the future.

Its good to see Full Race finally getting their R14 ready for the 2010 Modified Magazine Tuner Challenge. The R14 is a GT-R driveline equipped 240SX (S14 model).
The color, the stance, all look good. Knowing there is a 500+ whp RB26 on pump gas inside, just makes me smile.
Full Race has been working on the V-Mount and cooling for the R14. You can see a couple of oil coolers, and the new intercooler mount.
This is an R32 front spindle that has been modified to work with the Moton Dampers that are going on the car, and a modified toe link to help adjust bumpsteer.
Fuel surge tank and dual 044 fuel pumps. Full Race says their plan is to run 100 psi base pressure on E85 fuel. The 044’s will pump some pressure, but 100 psi plus another 30 psi of boost is 130 psi. Not sure even the 044’s will like that much pressure.
